It would be beneficial to assist school teams with practical tools, such as checklists or self-assessment tools, to help support effective teaching and make best practices explicit.

An example is the Red Amber Green (RAG) self-assessment tool, which was developed for educators in the United Kingdom, describing evidence-based recommendations for teaching mathematics and self-assessment. The RAG self-assessment tool overlays a recommendation summary chart. Both can be downloaded under ‘Supporting resources’ as part of the Education Endowment Foundation’s Improving Mathematics in Key Stages 2 and 3 Guidance Report.
