Educators in Ontario have abundant access to high-quality resources. Ministry resources are based on research evidence of best practices. This suggests that access to resources is not a challenge, but rather the extent to which these resources are being implemented in practice.
To maximize learning, it is important to consider how these resources can be operationalized for use in schools. Studies have shown that support with classroom implementation is a key factor in developing successful teaching and learning.2
Practical resources to support educators could take many forms.
For example, a new ministry resource Focusing on the Fundamentals – Teacher Guide Resources could stimulate discussion, aligning this resource with ongoing professional learning conversations in schools and DSBs.
