It emerged that mathematical content knowledge and curriculum knowledge are key focuses for schools and DSBs, particularly the fundamental mathematics skills, as well as the mathematical process of problem-solving.
One key challenge that emerged for educators was learning more about “insight into children’s mathematical development”1 and the corresponding development of a scope and sequence framework for mathematics curriculum delivery across the grades.
This suggests that supporting educators with student learning progressions/trajectories in mathematics is a valuable key focus for building further content and curriculum knowledge.
